Down in the murky waters deep
    The mighty Kraken wakes

No fans, solid state hard drive, i7 CPU.
Only moving part is the DVD drive.
Look at the heatsink on the CPU! Bad-ass or what?

Things sure have moved on since I last built a PC.

Tiny lil 'M1' drive (the white label next to the heatsink) looks like a RAM chip mounted flat but is actually a 125gig drive that is even faster than an SSD! Thats what passes for a system volume these days.

Not started the internal wiring yet. Melted my tired old brain getting the hardware fixed up.

Assuming I haven't screwed up, this thing should fly.

    windows7...FTW!

....which meant I had to find a Skylake CPU (6th Gen) because Micr0$0ft got into bed with Intel to cripple the firmware inside the 7th Gen chips (Kaby Lake) and block win7 installs.

Looks nice! I think you should have upgraded your OS to past windows 7 because it still has many issues with viruses and malware.

Win7 has no more issues than win10, and is pretty much the same below the user interface I believe.

Microsoft is desperate to eradicate use of all OS except win10 because thats when they start charging an annual fee to use it.
Just like they already do with Office365....wait, you thought Micr0s0ft had given you win10 for FREE?
They are a company, not a charity. They have to get the RPU (revenue per user) somehow.

When a Company gives you something for free, then YOU are the product.
