There is now a lottery plugin added to MutinyCraft. There is a drawing that takes place every 240 minutes and anyone who has bought a ticket has a chance to win the lottery. If there are no winners for a drawing that jackpot keeps carrying forward to the next drawing. However, you will need to buy tickets for each drawing that you want a chance to win.

At the moment there is also a maximum ticket per person limit of 25. This is to help ensure that everyone has a reasonable chance of winning. This may be adjusted in the future, but for now I felt that 25 tickets per person was fair.

The price per ticket is set at $1,500. For each ticket sold $1,400 is added to the jackpot and $100 is collected as a tax.

Commands:

  • /lottery help - displays the commands for the plugin.
  • /lottery buy - purchase 1 ticket for the current selling price.
  • /lottery status - displays information about the current drawing and how many tickets you own.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions let me know!

Oh yeah, I made the plugin in a few hours so don't hate on it too much! :)

As some of you may already be aware of there are some very concerning things happening with the Bukkit project right now. For those of you who aren't aware, Craftbukkit is, for the most part, what we use to run MutinyCraft. In reality we use a custom version of Craftbukkit named Spigot, but nonetheless it is a "child" of craftbukkit which are all part of the Bukkit project.

In the past few days one of the developers that contributed to the Bukkit project decided that he no longer wanted his contributions to be part of the project any longer. Essentially he sent Bukkit a cease and desist letter that asked them to no longer provide links to download any Craftbukkit version that contains his work. I'm not really going to get into a huge amount of detail about this right now as there are very few facts about what is going on to provide.

What I can say is that MutinyCraft has no plans of going anywhere anytime soon. However, we may have to wait slightly longer before we can take advantage of the 1.8 features. The bottom line is that until the legal issues Bukkit is facing go away or are resolved there will be no updates. I wish I had more to pass on, but that is all I know right now.

I know this may be slightly confusing to some, so post any questions you may have and I can try and answer them.
